Making comics is so unbelievably slow when you’re doing 99% of it yourself. Here is a bit of what I’m doing RIGHT NOW.
Here’s a more generous preview snippet of “Safe House Diner” (written by David Canario, illustrated by Matt Collander) from our next anthology, “Modern Tales of the Future.” I should stop obsessing about the shading and word balloons on this (text not included in preview) and get on with illustrating my 12 page comic that also runs in this book. But it’s about time travel, so maybe I’ll find a wormhole or time pocket to draw in, on the verge of the story’s due date? And then it’ll be better? No…
Chris Burnham is illustrating the final arc of Grant Morrison’s Batman, Inc., and is a Chicagoan. Tony Daniel illustrated Batman for Grant Morrison during Batman RIP and is now writing/illustrating Detective Comics all by himself. Which is to say: I draw and live in Chicago, so it’s only a matter of time before I’m drawing Batman all the time for Grant Morrison…right?
In the meantime, this kicks ass and I can’t wait to see why these people have goat heads.

That gum you like is going to come back in style.

So…I have totally not been drawing Batman every day. But I HAVE been drawing two different sci-fi comics, which will be out for C2E2 in a self-published anthology, “Modern Tales of the Future.” My friends and I are self-publishing stuff at Dread Arts Company, and also here on Facebook.
Pictured above is my drawing desk and the surrounding walls with all 12 pages of my story “The Traveling Man” taped up, so I could wrap my head around them. Gotta finish drawing by the middle of February, so…Batmans then?

Thing is, this is a trick card. I’ve already gotten BINGO in a game that was started in the future, but progressed backwards through time, and have appeared now to herald the coming of the board. Which is totally obvious, if you think about it. Also, I’ve been Magneto the whole time.

OooOooOoooooh, it’s been too damn long since a Batman Inc. comic! This special’s gotta come out soon. I love what Morrison’s doing with Supes, but man…I’m so used to having Morrison Bat-books come out.
Keep forgetting to watch this movie on Netflix. Or, I could just keep watching this?

I will miss these guys if they go, but I will enjoy the never-ending three season DVD loop I live in for the rest of my life, I won’t lie.
Breaking Arrested Development News of the Day: It’s official: The Bluths are coming back.
Netflix, in partnership with 20th Century Fox Television and Imagine Television, will revive the critically acclaimed show, streaming new episodes to members starting in early 2013.
“Arrested Development is one of the finest American comedies in TV history and its return through Netflix is a perfect example of how we are working closely with studios and networks to provide consumers with entertainment they love,” said Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos in a statement.
“After a long hiatus, I’m dying to finally get back to the narrator’s microphone,” said executive producer Ron Howard. “It’s Arrested…Development.”

Netflix, also please pick up Community and bring back Party Down, okay?
